ADORE: new paper collection & challenge

With the holidays just around the corner, I have an early Christmas gift for all of you! (By the way, is it just me, or have stores everywhere just totally skipped over Thanksgiving?)  Anyways, I have been working hard to get this new paper collection together and I'm so excited to post it in here today.  It is called "ADORE" and it was inspired by my upcoming wedding anniversary in December. (I'm a TOTAL fan of winter weddings.) I hope you adore it as much as I enjoyed creating it!

DOWNLOAD:

And now for the challenge:

Please create a layout focused on a loved one.  It can be a spouse, a parent, a child, etc.  Anyone that has meaning in your life and has helped to shape the person you've become. It can be wedding inspired, or not.  All I ask is that it is love inspired. =) Three winners will be selected at random to receive a mini paper pack that I have put together called "TOY TRAIN".  It's a vintage mini pack inspired by wrapping papers of holidays past.

Guidelines:

-Your layout MUST use papers from my new ADORE paper pack exclusively...once again, NO other papers allowed.

-Elements can be from ANY KIT and ANY DESIGNER.

-You must create a new layout for this challenge.

-Each participant may only post 1 layout for this challenge.

-A link to your layout must be posted in the comments section no later than midnight on Saturday, December 19th, 2009 (PST).

-THREE winners will be SELECTED AT RANDOM and given a download link for my "TOY TRAIN" mini paper pack.

Have fun, and may your heart be warmed with thoughts of love!

HARVEST: the winners!

I'm genuinely sorry to have kept you waiting for so long, but here are the winners of my latest challenge:

Congratulations to amber, zibr1, and creative chaos!  Please email me and let me know which kit you would like the download links to. (You may choose from my California, School, Whimsy, and Change (paper pack only) kits.)

Thanks to everyone for participating.  I apologize if I didn't get a chance to comment on everyone's layouts...they were definitely AMAZING though.  I was also so excited that there were a few of you joining your very first challenge!  I do hope you will continue to join others- it's a great way to try something new and stretch your creative boundaries.

I hope you are all doing well and have much to be thankful for this holiday season.  Let's not let the hustle and bustle of it all get in the way of remembering what is truly important.  I am already feeling the stress, but I know that if I'm not intentional about focusing on what really matters, it will all come and go without much meaning.  With that being said, here are some of my recent layouts using some fabulous products from Fei Fei's Stuff and TaylorMade Designs that are perfect for documenting all of your priceless holiday moments.  Thanks for looking!

Products:
Fei Fei's Stuff "Victorian Dividers",
Fei Fei's Stuff + Joyce Paul Collab "Family Ties"

SPOOKED: a spookily modern paper pack

Happy Halloween everyone!  Although, to be quite honest, I'm not one to go all out for this holiday...I'm more of a Christmas person =).   I'm still trying to get my costume together for school tomorrow and get Ethan's costume finished, but I thought I'd post a little treat for you first.  Here is a set of spookily modern Halloween papers, perfect for all those cute costume pictures.  It was an experiment in different patterns and techniques...so feel free to take if you like.  I hope you all get to enjoy a little treat for yourselves amidst the craziness brought on by all the excess sugar. hahaha.

Oh, and before I forget...FABULOUS layouts for the challenge everyone!  Keep them coming!  I absolutely LOVE what you've been doing with those papers.  Thank you so much for participating and supporting my work!   Have a great weekend ladies!

HARVEST: new paper pack, new challenge

Good morning ladies!  I hope that everything is well with you.  Well, since I just announced the winners of the last challenge, I suspect that you knew this post would be coming =).  Things in my life have finally started to settle down, and once again life seems somewhat under control.  My class is moving along like a well-oiled machine, back-to-school night has come and gone, and this weekend we cleared out all the "junk" in our home that we haven't used in over a year.  (How do we accumulate so much stuff?!?)  I finally feel like I can breath...and think...and design =).

I have LOVED having all of you along on my journey as a newbie designer.  All of your feedback, your wonderful layouts, your participation in my challenges, has really been so encouraging and helpful as I develop my skills.  I have decided to focus in on one aspect of designing at a time and "master" that one area as much as I can before moving on.  I feel like I excitedly rushed into designing everything at once and the quality that I'm looking for is just not there yet.  (I am definitely my harshest critic) So I want to take a step back and take everything more slowly and carefully.  As a total paper freak, it was natural for me to start there.  So here it is:  HARVEST, a modern paper pack with colors that hint of Thanksgivings past.  It comes with 12 textured papers (5 plain, and 7 patterned).  Enjoy!

DOWNLOAD:

And with the arrival of my paper pack, comes another Three Paper Peonies challenge of course.

Design a layout that expresses something that you've been focused on recently.  What is driving your life right now?  What seems to take up most of your time (besides scrapping =)?  What do you enjoy spending time on right now?  Is there anything that you are trying to really develop and do well in your life?  There are an infinite number of ways to express this theme, and I know you ladies will definitely do it justice!  Three winners of this challenge will be selected at random and will receive the kit of their choice! (You may choose from my California, School, Whimsy, and Change (paper pack only) kits.)

Guidelines:

-Your layout MUST use papers from my new HARVEST paper pack exclusively...NO other papers allowed (gotta throw in a new twist every now and then...).

-Elements can be from ANY kit and ANY designer.

-You must create a new layout for this challenge.

-Each participant may only post 1 layout for this challenge.

-A link to your layout must be posted in the comments section no later than midnight on Saturday, November 7th, 2009 (PST).

-THREE winners will be SELECTED AT RANDOM and a download link for the kit of their choice will be sent by email.

CHANGE: new itty bitty, new challenge, & pure exhaustion

Let's just say that going back to work has me totally and utterly exhausted. I feel like the days are just whizzing by and I can't seem to keep my eyes open past 9:30. (Today was an exception, because I just HAD to post something...) Anyways, enough of the boring stuff.   Here is my latest itty bitty, "CHANGE", in honor of the changing seasons and the changes in my life.  It comes with 6 textured papers, 1 frame, 1 ribbon, and 1 word art.

DOWNLOAD:

And, of course, there is a challenge to go along with it.  This time, to *change* it up a little, 5 winners will be selected at random to receive the full paper pack filled with 14 gorgeous fall-inspired papers.

For this challenge, I would like to create a layout about change.  This could be a change in your life, a change in a child as he/she gets older, a change in attitude about something.  I know that your creative minds will be able to come up with something good =).

Guidelines:
-You must use at least 75% Three Paper Peonies products.

-You must create a new layout for this challenge.

-Each participant may only post 1 layout for this challenge.

-A link to your layout must be posted in the comments section no later than midnight on Saturday, October 10th, 2009 (PST).

-FIVE winners will be SELECTED AT RANDOM and a download link for the paper pack will be sent by email.

Happy Scrapping...and Good Night! (It's WAY past my bedtime.  I'm sure all you teachers out there understand. hahaha.)

TWO AMAZING KITS: plum autumn & est.

I recently got the chance to play with two amazing kits from my fav designers at Oscraps.  The first one is from Fei Fei's Stuff called "Plum Autumn".  It is full of gorgeously textured/patterned papers and beautiful, delicate elements inspired by autumn and shades of plum. It is a BEAUTIFUL kit and so easy to create layouts with.

Here are two layouts I did with this kit using some recent photos of Ethan.

The second kit is a collaboration simply called "est." by TaylorMade Designs and Paislee Press.  It is going to be released at Oscraps today.   These two designers have wonderful kits on their own, so you can imagine just how great a collaboration would be.  This kit is STUNNING to say the least, filled with beautifully colored papers and a ton of elements that can be used for so many projects.  The beauty of this kit easily inspires great layouts.

Here are the layouts I did with this kit using photos from our family beach trip. Thanks for looking!

WHIMSY: a new kit & a new challenge

Well I should REALLY be getting ready right now and heading into my classroom to set things up, but I just couldn't wait to get this posted. Here is my latest itty bitty for you, "WHIMSY". It sums up my summer of fun, and my anticipation for the new school year. It comes with 6 whimsical papers, 2 frames, 1 decomat, 1 stamp, 1 glitter frame, and 1 floral sticker. I love its bright and happy feel =).

And with a new kit, comes a new challenge of course. Gotta keep you on your toes! The 3 winners of this challenge will receive my full WHIMSY kit filled with all sorts of fun papers and elements. (NOTE: I've had some questions about where you can purchase my kits. I'm currently in the process of figuring that all out, so for now all I can offer you are my itty bittys and my whole kits as prizes to these challenges. I will definitely keep you all posted if I become part of an actual store. I'm so glad that you have been enjoying my designs, and I appreciate your support!)

 The Prize

Now on to the challenge. I just got back from a weekend at the beach with my entire family and I realized just how wonderful it is to spend time with them. As we've all gotten older time is so scarce, so being able to spend the whole weekend with them was like re-living the good old days.

Please create a layout that sums up your family. What makes you, you? What are things that you enjoy together? Any special traditions? What keeps you together through the good and the bad? It can be about any group of people that you consider to be your "family".

Guidelines:
-You must use at least 75% Three Paper Peonies products.

-You must create a new layout for this challenge.

-Each participant may only post 1 layout for this challenge.

-A link to your layout must be posted in the comments section no later than midnight on September 12, 2009 (PST).

-THREE winners will be SELECTED AT RANDOM and a download link for the kit will be sent by email.

With that being said, I hope you enjoy this challenge!

CHALLENGE: deadline extension

Hello everyone!  I had my first day back at work and I'm exhausted.  There were no students today, but my time was spent in meetings, unpacking my belongings, and rearranging the furniture in my classroom.  As a last hurrah, I'm headed to the beach this weekend with my family, so I figured I would extend the deadline for the challenge.  Woo hoo!!!  The final deadline will be 12 midnight (PST) on Sunday, August 30th.  That will give you a whole weekend to scrap =).  The count is officially up to 18, so keep 'em comin'!  (Just 12 more to reach 30!)  Have a great weekend everyone!!!

DRAWN NO.2: whimsical doodles

Well, I just couldn't help myself. I saw how much you were enjoying "DRAWN" that I had to release this second collection of fun hand-drawn doodles. I got a new wacom tablet and have been glued to the computer ever since. (Actually, I was already glued to the computer. hahaha.) Anyways, here are 9 hand-drawn doodles + one word art that come in colored and outlined versions. You can use them on so many different layouts, in so many different ways, to add that little touch of whimsy. And once again, if you apply your blending modes to them, the possibilities are endless. (Leave a link to your layouts so I can drool over your creations!) Enjoy! And thank you so much for supporting my designs!!!

And...the challenge count is up to thirteen. The layouts have been WONDERFUL!!! I love what you've been able to come up with! You still have until Thursday to get them in, so try to join if you can.
